Control

“Fuck off.” Raige spat at his father as he pushed past him and into the house. Karu stared blankly at his son, he’s always so hot headed.  With a sigh he moved to stop him before he ended up destroying everything in sight.
“Raige, try it again. You need to control your temper.”
“I said fuck. Off.” Raige was sick and tired of training . . . for what?! Nothing but empty battles that meant nothing. He wanted more. He wanted nothing but blood shed. War and battles called to him with an increasing, tantalizing need. He wanted to travel the world, wrecking havoc wherever he went. He wanted those around him to fear him, for his name to be known through out the lands and for humans to fear his very existence. Such ambitions and desires were what worried Karu. His son was a dangerous force; excelling in every thing that has to do with combat.  It was this very skill, combined with his son’s notorious nack for self control.  . . Karu did not want to think about what the consequences could be. For now, he had to do anything in his power to prevent Raige from such a fate.
“Son, please, try one last time. Then we can call it a day and go inside. Besides, you know how your mother gets when we are late for dinner.” Karu’s voice was loving and caring towards his son. He knew it was not Raige’s fault that he was this way.  Something dormant slept deep within Raige, and it wanted to get out.
Raige stared at his father for sometime before moving back to position.
“Good. Now I want you to try to control it this time alright? Its simple. Your wolf is your partner, not your enemy. So don’t fight it, embrace it. Go on.” He scoffed at his father’s words before concentrating on summoning his wolf. And as he did so he could not help but to wonder if this was normal for others? Surely, by now, he would be more than capable of controlling his wolf? He knew not of other wolves his age since they lived in a much-secluded area. There were nothing but trees and rolling hills surrounding wide skies and open pastures. He supposed it was because his father was an “outcast”; a wolf whom decides to give up its humanity for his or her wolf. It would become one of those “wild” wolves that humans hunt so much. . . the same humans that caused his people to cower in fear. The very species who think their whole world revolves around them. Nothing but selfish bastards who tear themselves apart at a whim, without a second thought to those-
“Raige!” His fathers voice boomed through his body instantly snapping him out of his daze, but the warning came too late.
He lost complete control, his wolf tearing out violently. Its dark blue fur shining brightly against the sun, its bright blue eyes flashing about in confusion as it thrashed erotically about.
“Raige! You must rein it back in! Remember, don’t fight it, just-“ An audible ‘oof’ left Karu as he was tackled to the ground by the crazed dog.
“Damnit.” He muttered under his breath as he wrestled Raige to the ground.  The wolf snapped at him, its large claws slashing deeply into his sides but Karu paid no mind. Instead, his focus was solely on trying to reach his son’s humanity before it was too far gone to save.
“Look at me son, you have to control it. Forget what I said. You’re different! You must command your wolf or else it will command you. Take control Raige!, Take control!”
Instantly the wolf froze. It’s thrashing ceased and it collapsed limply on the floor. Slowly, but surely, it began to shift back to its human form.
Karu could not help the sigh of relief that flowed out of him as his son gasped for air.
“God damn it!” Raige cursed, “Get off of me!” Karu was more than just lightly asked, within the second he was thrown off of Raige and hit the ground hard behind him.
“What is wrong with me?” The question seemed more directed to himself than his father. Why couldn’t he control it? His little brother seemed more capable than him! He slammed his fist onto the ground, the sheer force creating a small crater in its wake.
“N.. Nothing is . . . wrong. . with you. . . Raige.” His father’s labored breaths brought his attention to him. Shit! Karu was bleeding profusely from several deep gashed that marred his sides. There were several bruises and that was just the outer injuries that he could see.
“Raige Akuma?! What have you done?!” His mother’s sudden shout caused both boys to jump.
“Rein…” But his fathers words were lost as he fell onto the ground unconscious.
Her mothers vibrant red hair stood out amongst the darkness of the trees and shrubs. . . it made his eyes hurt.
“I’m outta here.”He grumbled as he got to his feet .He only made it as far as the next tree before his mother was before him. Her matching red eyes pierced through him, but he stood his ground.
“You will head back home, and you will stay there until I can think of a punishment harsh enough for this offense. Understood?”
He cast her a challenging grin before he said, “No. I will no longer listen to you fucking weaklings. I can handle it from here, thanks for the great 18 years of life.” Knowing his mother wouldn’t follow, Raige dashed deeper into the forest. His movements were swift and graceful as he weaved through the trees.
His mind was made up. He wouldn’t go back, and if he did it would only be to gather his things. He could not live the domestic life style. They would want him to marry soon, some shy little wolf girl that they thought would “tame” his aggression. He would not have it. He would not be tied down to some girl with pretty little eyes. No, he would fight in wars, claim lands. He would be the most feared mercenary of all the land and he would show his parents that he could control himself. Forget the fear that they lived in, forget the fear that clawed within the confinements of their mind. Raige would live a life without fear, a life of risk taking and of freedom. He will not be restraint like his family was, he would live the life of a fearless warrior. Little did the young wolf know he would get everything he ever wished for. . . but at a costly price.
